Representatives of COMUSIDA Chapala coordinated the commemorative event.

Jazmín Stengel – During the commemoration of the International Day for the Fight Against HIV/AIDS, the municipality of Chapala has added two new cases to the one hundred already registered by the Municipal AIDS Council (COMUSIDA). 

The representative of the municipal agency, Felipe Ramírez Torres reported the detection of two new cases of this disease in recent dates, which were detected during the campaigns against Syphilis (70 tests) and Hepatitis C (100 tests) in the municipality.

The results revealed that one baby was born with the acquired immunodeficiency disease because the mother was already infected, explained Ramírez Torres during the commemoration of the international day that the Municipality held on the boardwalk of Chapala.

Although with a small audience, the representative Mariana Mendoza in the absence of the councilor for Human Rights, Isabel Mendoza, explained the medical procedures that a person must follow when diagnosed, as well as how to lead a safe sexual life no matter how «open-minded» it may be, it was said repeatedly by the officials.

During the commemoration, both male and female contraceptives were distributed and free HIV tests were given.

For every confirmed case of HIV/AIDS, it is estimated that there are at least two more that have not been reported, so Felipe Ramirez estimates that in the municipality there are likely close to 300 cases.

During the event highlighted by an inclusive speech by the municipal authorities, they stressed that anyone can become infected with HIV, regardless of sexual orientation.

Of the 125 municipalities in the state of Jalisco, only half including Chapala have a  COMUSIDA unit. At the unit, 100 rapid tests are always accessible to the population for free testing.

En Jalisco se registraron 80 fallecimientos por accidentes en general en periodo vacacional de diciembre de 2020, lo que equivale a un 29 por ciento menos que en el mismo lapso de 2019.

Con la llegada de las festividades decembrinas, la Secretaría de Salud Jalisco (SSJ), a través del Consejo Estatal para la Prevención de Adicciones (CECAJ) y el Consejo Estatal para la Prevención de Accidentes (CEPAJ), refrenda el llamado a la población para celebrar las fiestas decembrinas a la segura. 

• Consume con moderación: no más de una copa por cada 90 minutos.
• Si decides beber asegúrate que NO sea una bebida adulterada.
• No bebas nada de alcohol cuando la situación implique riesgo como conducir o desarrollar alguna actividad laboral o recreativa donde te exponga a riesgos a ti o a los tuyos. 
• No beber sin haber comido y acompaña la bebida con alimentos.
• No incitar al consumo de alcohol a menores de edad.
• Establecer en acuerdo quién va a conducir y que no beba.
• No llevar alcohol de más a tus fiestas.
• Ofrecer también bebidas sin alcohol en fiestas o reuniones.
• Si te excedes, llama a un amigo que esté sobrio o un familiar.
• Si experimentas estados de depresión o ansiedad, llama a los teléfonos de atención en crisis 075.
• Si estás en recuperación, no bajes la guardia. Sigue reuniéndote con los que te acompañan en el proceso, y evita riesgo de una recaída.

SE REDUCEN ACCIDENTES

El coordinador operativo del CEPAJ, José Parra Sandoval, hizo un llamado a la población en general a seguir medidas de prevención para evitar accidentes comunes durante el periodo vacacional decembrino.

“El mes decembrino se aprovecha para la convivencia familia, ya estamos con el incremento de autos de motor en la vía pública en donde el principal problema es el exceso de velocidad por lo que los invito para que tomen precauciones y tiempo para trasladarse de un lugar a otro y lo más importante es el no conducir si ya has ingerido alguna bebida alcohólica”, mencionó.

Parra Sandoval informó que durante el periodo vacacional del año pasado del 12 de diciembre del 2020 al 6 de enero del 2021, en Jalisco se registraron 80 fallecimientos por accidentes en general, lo que equivale a un 29 por ciento menos que el periodo decembrino inmediato anterior.

“Si vas a salir, evita consumir bebidas alcohólicas, la gente confunde el descanso con el descuido ya que en lo primero que piensan es en llevarse la cerveza o el tequila para poder conducir en esas condiciones. Si quieren a su familia cuídense, por lo que los invitamos a que celebren a la segura con sus familias y amigos”, precisó el funcionario.

Para continuar disminuyendo la mortalidad por accidentes en el Estado, Parra Sandoval hizo estas recomendaciones: 

Juegos pirotécnicos

• No utilizar juegos pirotécnicos y, en caso de que se usen, estos deben ser de luz y no explosivos; además deben estar dentro de la norma. Por ningún motivo los niños pueden comprarlos ni maniobrar con ellos mientras estén sin supervisión de un adulto. 
• El encendido de estos artefactos debe ser solo en exteriores alejados de las fuentes de gas, como por ejemplo tanques y cilindros. Hay que recordar que es muy peligroso guardarlos en los bolsillos por la fricción que se pudiera generar con el movimiento. 
• Se debe evitar que estos sean dirigidos directamente a personas y hay que mantenerse a una distancia prudente de ellos, sobre todo de castillos y lanzadores. 

Quemaduras 

• No dormir ni dejar el hogar solo con fuentes de calor encendidas (estufas, anafres, braseros, lámparas de gas, boiler, veladoras, etcétera). 
• No dejar encendedores o cerillos a la mano de los niños. 
• No sobrecargar los circuitos electrónicos con decoración navideña. 
• Proteger enchufes y contactos. 
• No servir alimentos calientes a niños. 
• Evitar que los niños jueguen en la cocina y dejar los mangos de los sartenes y ollas hacia la parte central de la estufa.  
• Si son quemaduras leves, colocar la parte lesionada bajo el chorro suave del agua. 
• En caso de quemaduras serias, cubrir el área lesionada con un lienzo limpio, seco y libre de pelusas. Además, retirar cuidadosamente anillos, relojes, cinturones o prendas ajustadas que compriman la zona afectada antes de que esta se empiece a inflamar. 
• Mantener la temperatura corporal y trasladar a la víctima a la unidad médica más cercana o llamar al 911 para pedir una ambulancia. 

En casa

• Mantener a los niños vigilados en todo momento y evitar que jueguen en la cocina.
• Guardar medicamentos y sustancias químicas bajo llave o en repisas altas, así como en sus envases originales.
• Poner especial cuidado cuando los pisos están mojados.
• Evitar tener objetos en el suelo con los que puede ser fácil tropezar.
• Dejar bien tapados pilas y aljibes. 

 En la vía pública

• Utilizar siempre el cinturón de seguridad o los sistemas de retención infantil. 
• Respetar al peatón y los límites de velocidad. 
• Si se toma alcohol, evitar manejar. 
• Evitar el sobrecupo en los vehículos. 
• Llevar consigo un botiquín de primeros auxilios y un estuche de herramientas. 
• Recordar que, antes de salir a carretera, es importante revisar el estado mecánico de su vehículo. 

En centros vacacionales:

• Ubicar el puesto de emergencias del lugar donde va a vacacionar. 
• Si se viaja con niños, asegurar que todas las actividades las realicen junto a un adulto. 
• Evitar correr junto a albercas o sobre pisos mojados. 
• Si se realizan deportes extremos, hacerlo con el equipo necesario y con una empresa establecida.

Verifica las ofertas y evita las “oportunidades” de adquirir artículos a precios muy inferiores a su valor real

Redacción.- Cada vez más son las personas que aprovechan la tecnología para realizar compras en línea, sin embargo, existe el riesgo de ser víctima de los ciberdelincuentes y para evitarlo, la Secretaría de Seguridad del Estado emite las siguientes recomendaciones.

Al ingresar a un sitio web, cerciórate de que sea una página segura, lo cual podrás verificar con el ícono del candado cerrado y observa que después de “http” tenga una “s”.

Asimismo, cerciórate de que las ofertas que se exhiben sean reales y que correspondan los precios con los productos, pues las ofertas desmedidas o desproporcionadas generalmente son trampas generadas por los ciberdelincuentes.

Evita proporcionar tus datos confidenciales, como tu NIP, pues ninguna empresa te pedirá esa información por realizar alguna compra en línea.

Verifica periódicamente el estado de tu cuenta bancaria y si detectas alguna compra irregular, repórtalo de inmediato a tu banco.

Algunos delincuentes elaboran sitios web falsos de empresas reconocidas donde ofertan vehículos o algún otro producto en remate con precios muy inferiores a su valor real, e incitan a las personas a “aprovechar” la oportunidad haciendo transferencias bancarias. Ante este panorama, comunícate a la empresa para verificar la situación y no caer en un fraude.

Si al realizar compras haces los pagos con tarjetas bancarias, mantenlas a la vista en todo momento. La mayoría de los negocios cuentan con terminales inalámbricas que las pueden llevar al lugar donde tú estés.

Evita responder correos electrónicos donde te pidan datos personales y de tu cuenta o tarjeta bancaria, como NIPs o claves de acceso, incluso aunque contengan el logo de algún banco, pues es factible que se trate de la modalidad conocida como phishing.

Poner en práctica estas recomendaciones te permitirá mantener seguras tus cuentas bancarias y realizar compras en línea seguras.

Héctor Ruiz Mejía.- A tres días de que inicie el periodo de operativos navideños  que abarcan desde el 12 de diciembre hasta el 6 de enero, el Ayuntamiento de Jocotepec no ha dado a conocer las estrategias para recibir y salvaguardar la integridad de turistas y locales en estas fiestas decembrinas.

Y es que, pese al incremento de accidentes viales como resultado de imprudencia por la ingesta de bebidas alcohólicas y estupefacientes en estas fechas de fiestas y posadas, hasta el momento no habrá ningún operativo de movilidad encargado de prevenir o sancionar dichas acciones, confirmó el edil Hugo García Vargas, ya que la dirección de Comunicación Social no brindó información respecto al tema.

Asimismo, externó su preocupación respecto al poco personal de policías con el que cuenta el municipio, pese a que el propio José Miguel Gómez López, presidente municipal de Jocotepec, se pronunciara en redes sociales sobre el incremento de robos y extorsiones en estas fechas.

Por lo que el munícipe solo exhortó a la comunidad a “que estén muy al pendiente, muy vigilantes cuando vean personas sospechosas”, para lo cual brindó el número de reporte, que es el 387-763-0006; “necesitamos que ustedes nos ayuden a hacer su parte”, expresó.

Respecto a la clínica municipal, autoridades médicas aseguraron que el único operativo será el de vigilar que haya los correctos filtros de sanidad respecto al COVID-19, apostados en las entradas de eventos tales como el Tianguis Navideño.

No obstante, a decir de autoridades médicas, invitaron a la comunidad a ser conscientes respecto al uso del cubrebocas, pues “solo pasan el filtro y ya una vez dentro se lo quitan y desafortunadamente ya nosotros no podemos hacer nada al respecto”, comentó el médico.

Por lo que recordó que la pandemia aún no termina y aseguró que ya el cuidarse del virus es una decisión personal.

Por su parte, el departamento de Bomberos Jocotepec aseguró contar con planes de prevención y recorridos en apoyo a las peregrinaciones como la del 12 de diciembre en conmemoración a la Virgen de Guadalupe, así como invitándolos a seguir con las medidas de desinfección dentro de estos eventos.

Así como “rondines” nocturnos, operativos de regulación de cohetes y charlas de prevención de fogatas; que en esta fecha suele ser común que la gente haga fogatas en la calle.

«We have been in the government office only a month and a half, and it has not been an easy start. I would like us to be faster, but due to budget issues and conditions we will not describe in detail, it was not the best way to start our administration. However, we have resolved some of the problems and we have made progress and achieved many results,» said the mayor of Chapala.

Through a press release, the Municipality reported that, «the renewal of the heavy machinery agreement with the State Government will allow improving the connectivity of communities, plots, ejido areas and the economy of producers; supporting farmers in their agri-food production processes in Chapala, as well as facilitating their transit through the farm-to-market roads located within the municipality».

Once again there was an accident on the Guadalajara-Morelia highway, near El Molino in the municipality of Jocotepec. The vehicle involved in the accident was a family van. No serious injuries were reported.  It appears that speeding was the cause of the accident, and resulted in traffic jams in the area where lanes were reduced.  This location has been a constant source of accidents.

A heavy truck ended up on its side on the northbound lanes of the Chapala-Guadalajara highway, at the intersection of Calle El Zapote, just before the Guadalajara airport exit. The incident occurred during the morning of November 30.

Livestock  left to roam by irresponsible owners continues to be a problem for motorists, who are plagued by  accidents, such as the one that occurred on the Santa Rosa-La Barca highway during the morning of November 27, in which two cars were damaged. 

Stray cattle were the cause of the mishap.

The incident occurred a few meters from the access to Poncitlán, causing traffic congestion in both directions. Emergency services personnel arrived at the scene to attend to those affected.

«At first they were reluctant, very closed, but now they are changing their minds,» said the mayor, who explained that ejidatarios have begun to change their minds after attending meetings.

The landfill would provide a temporary solution to the worrying situation faced by the current garbage collection service, which has to transport the garbage to Ixtlahuacán in a round trip that takes more than four hours. 

«AlrWith a landfill open there a single truck could make three round trips in one day», explained José Miguel, who added that the collection company GIRRSA would also benefit, since it has not been able to profit from its trash-hauling contract with Jocotepec. «This would decrease their operating expenses, such as diesel fuel costs, tires, maintenance, personnel time, as well as allow the operation of only four trucks out of the seven stipulated in the contract,» said the official.

Once the garbage collection service is regularized, the interviewee stated, new measures will come into effect for processing of the garbage, from its collection, to its disposal. 

As part of the new measures, he explained, there will be a charge (according to the amount of garbage picked up, similar to the United States, which is a first world country, where  everyone has to pay for the service», he said.

He added that  the separation of garbage will be mandatory to allow some cost recovery, since all the cardboard, glass and metals will be sold. The government is still working on profitable recycling of organic waste.  Service will be denied to anyone who does not separate their garbage.
