Sofía Medeles (Ajijic).- The first Mariachi School in Lakeside opened this week in Ajijic. Named after the musician Pedro Rey, the school will offer different disciplines in the most Mexican musical genre, the mariachi. 

The presentation took place in the facilities of what will be the new school in the well-known adobe house, located at Constitución #147. Classes will begin on June 6th.

Present at the event were the founder of Mariachi Los Galleros, Pedro Rey, after whom the new school is named; musician and teacher Jorge Cerna; arranger and music producer Miguel Barrón; musical director of mariachi Los Toritos, Ramón García; and the director of the Pedro Rey Mariachi School, Daniel Arturo Medeles Córdova.

Medeles Córdova, director and founder of the school said that they will begin offering regular classes for the young people who join; approximately 35 people are already enrolled. 

The school will offer classes to young people between 7 and 17 years of age; among others, the students will learn to play the trumpet, guitar, guitarrón, violin, vihuela, in addition to singing classes to tune the voice of those interested.

«I feel fulfilled and totally convinced to return to Ajijic. I am from here, my family is from here and here I grew up and became what I am. I feel fulfilled, motivated, and eager to give something back to the town for all that it has given me,» said Daniel.

Also on the podium at the opening were musician and composer René Mejía Jacobo; harpist and teacher, Carlos Mata; musician and business administrator, Jorge Corredor Zaraza; the municipal president of Chapala, Alejandro Aguirre Curiel and his wife Erika Eryn Torres Herrera, president of DIF.

Alma Serrano.- El trío musical cosalense Linaje Bohemio,  apareció la tarde del 13 de mayo  en “Tv Jalisco” de Zapopan, canal dedicado a tendencias, entretenimiento y diversión. Con David Reyes Díaz como vocalista y los hermanos Carlos y César Torres en la guitarra y trompeta, enriquecieron con su talento el programa. 

El trío musical, Linaje Bohemio, ha sido conocido por ser una bomba de talento, ya que este grupo ahora conocido en la ribera de Chapala y otros lugares de la República, como Chiapas y municipios del estado de Jalisco, lugares donde tuvo un impacto positivo desde los primeros meses. 

Su trayectoria como grupo, después de haber sido mejores amigos, comenzó en el año 2019, llevando hasta mayo del 2022, dos años y medio como compañeros de música, sin contar el tiempo que se dedicaron a otros grupos, ni la experiencia que tienen desde niños.

En el año 2019, armaron el grupo de manera inesperada, en un evento de un restaurante, que los llevó a los días siguientes a recibir innumerables llamadas para solicitar sus servicios, en fiestas de cualquier tipo, incluyendo, festivales de música, arte, etcétera.  Lo que forzó afortunadamente el formalizar sus servicios y darle un nombre.

Durante su trayectoria, Linaje Bohemio ha compartido el escenario con artistas como Brandon and James, ganadores del concurso America’s GOT Talent en Estados Unidos; Francisco Puga, ganador de concurso de imitación en Parodiando, programa de televisa; Alex Villareal, mejor conocido como “el borrego”, ex vocalista de la Banda el Recodo, e infinidad de artistas de la ribera de Chapala. 

Debido a la música bohemia e inspiradora y por supuesto a su juventud, Linaje Bohemio se posicionó en la sensación del momento, dando entrevistas y deleitando con su música a programas de radio como Fanáticos al Aire, La Feroz FM, y El Desmoder.

Debido a la alta demanda, sobre todo local, David, Carlos y César se vieron saturados de trabajos, por lo que modificaron estratégicamente sus medios como artistas. Contemplaron la idea de aliarse a personas que administraran su agenda y los medios hacia clientes y el público, por lo que integraron al equipo de trabajo al joven de 26 años, Víctor Serrano, quien los representa con los clientes y maneja su agenda.

Por otra parte, Diego Amezcua y Anie Cerna son quienes ayudan con publicidad y grabación de los videos de covers subidos en el Canal de YouTube. “Linaje Bohemio” y sin duda, ellos agradecen públicamente al club de fans con más de cuatro mil 500 seguidores que se extiende en toda la ribera y otros países como Estados Unidos.  Encuentra más sobre este grupo musical en las redes sociales como “Linaje Bohemio”.

Héctor Ruiz Mejía  (Jocotepec).- Restaurant owners of the tourist-gastronomic zone of Piedra Barrenada, in San Juan Cosalá, demanded the authorities of Jocotepec take precautions in the creek near the area.

Although authorities assured that work had already been carried out to channel the creek to two outlets, one of the streams passes by the Las Gaviotas restaurant. This has caused the owners to “feel concerned.”

The owner of one of the most affected restaurants, who asked for anonymity, pointed out that after the October 5 downpour, he registered losses of more than 280 thousand pesos (approx. $14,200 US) due to the damage caused by the landslide, «it has been a poorly executed intervention,» he commented.

The restaurateur explained that the depth of the channel is barely over one meter in height so as soon as the rains begin, this section is prone to overflowing due to its shallowness.

«I even sent up a drone to capture what happened in the last storm. Due to the amount of water that fell, the channel became like a lagoon, when it could not hold any more water, all those liters and liters of water flowed out,» he said.

Other businessmen consulted also said they were worried about this coming rainy season. They fear a repetition of last October’s situation, where they not only lost real estate, but one of the restaurateurs was almost swept away by the waterspout.

«Everything, everything was filled with mud and stones. The bar was filled to the top, the kitchen the same. I had to smash the main door so that all the debris would flow out and, in the attempt, I was dragged by the current. Civil Protection had to throw me a rope so that it would not wash me into the lake,” he explained.

For these reasons, they urged the Jocotepec City Hall to act on the matter and conduct the appropriate reports on the stream to rule out another possible landslide, while there is still time before the storms begin.

Staff.-The Regional Special Prosecutor’s Office captured Miguel Ángel M, charging him with kidnapping of a truck driver and the theft of the cargo truck he was driving.

On May 15, Miguel Ángel M, in the company of other individuals, allegedly intercepted the driver of a 2016 International tractor-trailer at kilometer 29 of the major highway in Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos,in an attempt to steal the merchandise in the truck.

The complaint allowed the Public Prosecutor’s Office to carry out the investigation  which led to an arrest warrant being issued for the accused, who was captured by members of the Investigative Police.

Miguel Ángel M. is being held at the order of the Supervisory Judge, Prosecution, Integral Justice for Adolescents and Criminal Execution of the Fifth Judicial District based in Chapala.

Sofía Medeles (Ajijic).- Due to the growing problem of accumulation of large items such as furniture, tires and debris in the streets of Ajijic, town staff have opted to help low-income people remove this waste.

The Ajijic acting delegate, Maximiano Macias Arceo, commented that they have already identified several areas of Ajijic, among them the streets Emiliano Zapata, Francisco Villa, or the northern part of Juárez, where oversized garbage is constantly discarded that the collection trucks do not take away.

«Armchairs, mattresses, other furniture, tires and debris, are taken out in the street, and they stay there several days. Sometimes the people who throw them away do so because they do not have the money to pay for a service to take the furniture, debris or tires, the latter are taken to specific and authorized places», commented Macías Arceo.

Because of this, he offers the support to remove them, as long as whoever requests it does not have the resources to hire a service of this type. Help can be requested at the phone number: 331-537-9134.

He added that they do not charge a fee, they only ask in exchange that, if possible, the debris be delivered in bags, and the area of the debris be clear so that it can be easily loaded onto the truck. In addition, a support «for the refreshment» of the workers because at times the workers do this work outside their normal working hours.

Redacción.- El pasado cuatro de junio, la Secretaría de Salud Jalisco (SSJ) recibió la notificación por parte del Centro Nacional de Enlace Internacional (CNEI) de la Dirección General de Epidemiología (DGE), de un caso sospechoso de viruela símica en Puerto Vallarta; el caso fue reportado a su vez por el Centers for Diseaese Control and Prevention (CDC) de los Estados Unidos de América (EUA).

Se trata de un masculino de 48 años, originario y residente de Dallas, Texas, Estados Unidos, quien visitó Puerto Vallarta por motivos turísticos, acompañado de su pareja. El hombre comenzó con síntomas el 30 de mayo: tos, escalofríos, dolor muscular y lesiones tipo pústulas en cara, cuello y tronco. 

El pasado tres de junio contactó a un médico en Texas para informar su situación, quien le recomendó acudir por atención médica e hizo el reporte de caso sospechoso al CDC y éste al CNEI de México. 

Como antecedente, la persona viajó a Berlín, Alemania, del 12 al 16 mayo pasado; regresó a Dallas el 16 de mayo y el día 27 de este mismo mes arribó a Puerto Vallarta de vacaciones. 

El hombre acudió a un hospital privado de Puerto Vallarta y ante la sospecha de esta enfermedad se le indicó la toma de muestras y el aislamiento, a lo cual se niega y se retira (en realidad se dio a la fuga) de la unidad.  

Tras ser notificada la SSJ, de forma inmediata y coordinada el cuatro de junio se dio seguimiento al caso por personal de la Región Sanitaria VIII Puerto Vallarta, sin poder localizar al afectado por ninguna vía de comunicación.

De acuerdo con información del lugar donde se hospedaba la pareja, se informó que se les vio salir con maletas el cuatro de junio; sin embargo, dado que el paciente tenía programado un vuelo de Puerto Vallarta a Dallas el día 6 de junio, el área de Sanidad internacional de Puerto Vallarta informó al Instituto Nacional de Migración y a las Aerolíneas la situación del paciente para que no se le permitiera el ingreso ni abordar a la aeronave, así como su notificación inmediata a Sanidad Internacional. 

El seis de junio el CDC notificó al CNEI que el paciente viajó a USA el 4 de junio sin especificar aerolínea, vuelo ni horario, para el 7 de junio se recibe notificación por el CNEI reportando la prueba de PCR positiva a ADN del virus Orthopoxvirus (no variólico), estando soló a la espera de la confirmación por laboratorios del CDC.

De igual forma notificaron que el paciente durante su estancia en Puerto Vallarta estuvo presente en diversos festejos, algunos de ellos celebrados en un hotel del puerto. Por lo anterior se comenzó con reforzamiento de la vigilancia epidemiológica en las unidades de salud, búsqueda de contactos de riesgo y recomendaciones a la población.

Vigilancia epidemiológica 

Debido a que se desconoce la identidad de los contactos, la SSJ se hace un llamado a la población que asistió a fiestas en el MANTAMAR BEACH CLUB entre el 27 de mayo y el 4 de junio de 2022 a que vigile su estado de salud  y en caso de que presente síntomas como dolor de cabeza, fiebre mayor a 38.5°c, inflamación en los ganglios, dolor muscular y/o malestar general, a lo cual pueden agregarse erupciones en la piel (tipo maxulas, pápulas, vesículas, pústulas o costras) que afecten primero la cara y posteriormente se extienda al resto del cuerpo para que acuda a recibir atención médica inmediata para lo que se pone a disposición el Laboratorio Regional de Salud Pública adyacente al Centro de Salud Roberto Mendiola Orta ubicado en la calle Rivera del Río n° 200, Zona Romántica, El Remance, Puerto Vallarta con horario de 9 a 14:00 horas donde se realizara valoración médica y en su caso toma de muestras. 

PARA SABER

La viruela símica es una zoonosis, enfermedad viral causada por el virus Orthopoxvirus, que ocurre principalmente en selvas tropicales de África Central y Occidental, comúnmente transmitida al humano por contacto con animales.

A partir de mayo de 2022 varios países reportaron la presencia de casos sin vínculos conocidos con África occidental o central.

La viruela símica se puede transmitir de persona a persona por contacto estrecho con secreciones de las vías respiratorias o lesiones cutáneas de una persona infectada o con objetos contaminados recientemente.

La enfermedad tiene un periodo de incubación que va de los 5 a los 21 días.

Panorama nacional 

A nivel nacional el pasado 28 de mayo se confirmó el primer caso importado de viruela símica en un hombre de 50 años, residente permanente de la ciudad de Nueva York, quien probablemente se contagió en Holanda, se atendió en la Ciudad de México con evolución estable y en aislamiento preventivo. 

Recomendaciones para la población: 

• Lavarse las manos de forma frecuente, con agua y jabón o solución alcohol gel. 
• Cubrir nariz y boca al estornudar o toser con etiqueta respiratoria. 
• Evitar compartir alimentos, bebidas, cubiertos y platos. 
• Cuando se esté físicamente cerca de un enfermo, usar cubrebocas, especialmente si está tosiendo o se tiene lesiones en la boca. 
• Lavar la ropa, toallas, utensilios para comer y sábanas que hayan estado en contacto con la persona enferma, utilizando agua caliente y detergente. 
• Limpiar y desinfectar los espacios en los que se haya encontrado una persona enferma y evitar el contacto estrecho con la misma. 
• Evitar el contacto con las lesiones, si se deben tocar utilizar guantes y desechar de forma correcta. 

• En caso de presentar síntomas, acudir al médico y evitar el contacto con otras personas

Redacción.- El Gobernador del Estado de Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, anunció el pasado 7 de junio que el Programa de Verificación Responsable mantiene su carácter obligatorio, pero con un enfoque de incentivos más que de sanciones.

El mandatario reiteró que no se aplicarán sanciones hasta que se cuente con las condiciones necesarias para que los usuarios realicen su verificación sin ninguna complicación, es decir, cuando el sistema de citas sea más amigable e intuitivo al utilizar y cuando la capacidad instalada del programa sea de por lo menos 80 líneas en el AMG y dos en cada una de las ciudades medias que estarán obligadas.  

“Este año no hay multas, lo que hay son incentivos para que la gente entienda que verificar es una responsabilidad de todos y tenemos que poner cada quien de nuestra parte para cuidar el medio ambiente. Con esto queremos dejar en claro que el propósito del programa no es recaudar más dinero, lo que queremos es que dejemos de contaminar”, dijo el mandatario.  

Respecto a los ajustes, Alfaro también precisó que, aunque el alcance de la Verificación Responsable seguirá siendo estatal, solo será obligatorio para quienes vivan en el AMG y en ciudades medias y sus zonas metropolitanas como Puerto Vallarta, Lagos de Moreno, Tepatitlán, Ocotlán y Ciudad Guzmán.

Además, los vehículos de uso intensivo estarán verificando solamente una vez al año, en lugar de dos, tal como es en el caso de los vehículos particulares. Para la aplicación de dichos ajustes, se enviará al Congreso de Jalisco una reforma al decreto del Programa de Verificación Responsable. 

“Estamos hablando de 2.8 millones de vehículos obligados a verificar y si tú vives en Guadalajara o en cualquier ciudad media, tendrás la obligación de verificar tu vehículo y de ayudar a dejar de emitir contaminantes en la atmósfera”, comentó el Gobernador.

Asimismo, Alfaro Ramírez señaló que la bolsa alcanzada en el fondo ambiental, cuya estimación es de 110 millones de pesos al final de este ejercicio fiscal, se destinará a proyectos como la modernización de la red de monitoreo de calidad del aire en el AMG, la creación de un programa de renovación y chatarrización, fortalecimiento del programa de conservación de la biodiversidad y un programa integral de resiliencia hídrica en las ciudades medias del estado que incluye acciones en Lagos de Moreno, Tepatitlán, Puerto Vallarta, Ocotlán y Zapotlán el Grande. 

En este momento, Jalisco cuenta con 53 líneas de verificación distribuidas en 11 Centros de Verificación Responsable (CVR) y una línea móvil, capacidad instalada para verificar a 183 mil 168 vehículos al bimestre de acuerdo al calendario mes-placa, además, se están en proceso de construcción 79 líneas más, que han sido el resultado de cuatro convocatorias.

Hasta el 5 de junio de 2022, se han aplicado 267 mil 405 pruebas de verificación vehicular, de las cuales 168 mil 966 pruebas corresponden a este año, con un porcentaje de aprobación del 90%. 

Antes de la implementación de este ejercicio, se agendaban entre 400 y 600 citas diarias, mientras ahora, el promedio es de 2,676 citas por día.

Para agendar una cita, los usuarios solo deben ingresar al sitio web: verificacionresponsable.jalisco.gob.mx y dar click en el botón “hacer cita”, seleccionar el Centro de Verificación Responsable deseado, elegir fecha y horario, ingresar los datos del formulario su (la información solicitada está en la tarjeta de circulación) y realiza tu pago.

Héctor Ruiz Mejía (Jocotepec).- Residents of the community of El Chante, in Jocotepec asked the City Council for support for the completion of the main square project. The rehabilitation project consisted of the construction of a kiosk, a new local town office, public restrooms and multiple benches. 

After an investment of ten million pesos (over US$500,000), with funding from the Common Competitive Fund for Infrastructure (FOCOCI) and managed by the Jalisco Public Works Infrastructure Secretariat (SIOP), there are still «details to be fine-tuned,» as some residents pointed out.

The fact that the sun shines on the plaza from approximately 11:00 in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon, without any shade to help protect against the heat, means that the space remains empty and unused during those hours.

«Well, we are happy because in all my years here, there was rarely anyone who put money into it and now it looks much better than it was before. But before, we could take out chairs and sit out until the afternoon, when the sun goes down,» commented Maria, who lives almost in front of the public space. 

«They should put something – more trees or some awnings. They say they want to put some games here, but who is going to play outside with this sun?,» commented another of the neighbors, who preferred to keep her name anonymous.

The lack of shelter from the inclement sun was not the only issue that previous users of the space pointed out: just at the border of the plaza with the Encarnación Rosas School, there is a «poorly made ditch,» where a stairway was planned to go.

The structure, which was originally planned to be a stairway, is now only an uneven ramp of dirt and gravel which has already caused more than one passerby to slip.

 «They should have put some stairs or a proper ramp there. People have already fallen, especially drunks and children, they are the ones who fall the most. Besides, in rainy weather, all the gravel slides and it becomes even more dangerous,» commented another of the residents.

They added that it wouldn’t hurt to give the much-loved kiosk a «facelift» since the bricks used to build the structure still stand out, and they say that «a little tidying up would make the view of the only square more pleasant.»

The project was inaugurated on February 27, 2021, after being postponed several times due to the pandemic.

Héctor Ruiz Mejía (Jocotopec).- With fire, dance, and knives, the fourth edition of the traveling festival «Jalisco Suena», a program promoted by the Ministry of Culture of Jalisco, the Directorate of Operation and Cultural Programming, and the Head of Festivals and Artistic Groups, kicked off in the municipality of Jocotepec.

In the first stop, among six other municipalities, the festival presented a contemporary dance show with a gypsy theme, performed by the group Gipsy Dandys. For a little over an hour the group danced and interacted with spectators in the main square of Jocotepec on the evening of Sunday, May 22.

Laguna Staff.- While walking on the bicycle path of the Chapala-Jocotepec highway, a man fell to the ground after suffering a heart attack. The man, an expat, was helped by people who saw him fall including a private security guard who assisted him with CPR. Unfortunately, even with an immediate response, nothing could be done to save his life. He died on May 23rd, at about 11:15 a.m. at the corner of Aquiles Serdán, just west of central Ajijic.
