Redacción.- Mediante un operativo, elementos de la Policía de Investigación de la Fiscalía del Estado de Jalisco detuvieron a Julio César M., ya que en su contra existía una orden de aprehensión por el delito de abuso sexual infantil agravado.

Con relación a lo ocurrido, dicho sujeto presuntamente cometió el agravio en contra de una femenina menor de edad, en el mes de julio del 2020, en la delegación de Las Trojes, en Jocotepec.

De las pesquisas realizadas por el agente del Ministerio Público se obtuvieron datos de prueba que permitieron obtener una orden de aprehensión en su contra.

Recientemente, elementos de la Policía de Investigación del Distrito V, lo capturaron y pusieron a disposición del Juez Especializado en Control, Enjuiciamiento, Justicia Integral para Adolescentes y Ejecución Penal del Quinto Distrito Judicial con sede en Chapala, quien lo reclamaba para que responda por estos actos.

Redacción. –El día primero de febrero, se celebra el Año Nuevo Chino «Año del Tigre», por eso, en el Centro Universitario Octavio Paz (CUOP) brindaron a sus alumnos una pequeña sorpresa, con frases en chino, con la intención de que los alumnos interactúen y conozcan otras culturas. 

Al igual,  se les obsequió una galleta de la fortuna como símbolo de la cultura china y del aprecio que los profesores hacia el alumnado.

Redacción.- Diego N y César N fueron detenidos por oficiales de la Secretaría de Seguridad del Estado (SSE) por presunta posesión de droga, en las calles del barrio de San Miguel, en el municipio de Chapala.

Diego “N”, de 20 años de edad, llevaba consigo una caja metálica cuyo interior contenía 20 envoltorios con cristal; por su parte, César “N”, de 34 años, llevaba consigo 102 envoltorios con la misma droga y, tras verificar sus datos generales en el área de Mandamientos Judiciales, éste contaba con orden de aprehensión vigente, por el delito de homicidio calificado.

La detención se realizó cuando los oficiales vieron a dos hombres que al percatarse de la presencia de la patrulla tomaron una actitud evasiva, por lo que fueron interceptados en el cruce de las calles Santos Degollado y San Miguel.

Los dos sujetos fueron puestos a disposición del agente del Ministerio Público para continuar con las investigaciones necesarias.

Héctor Ruiz Mejía: All the street vendors who previously worked around Morelos and Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez streets in downtown Jocotepec have been relocated to the interior of the Morelos Market, fulfilling the municipal mandate.

The relocation  was ordered by the government after a meeting between Jocotepec President José Miguel Gómez López and  the merchant community  failed to reach an agreement that would allow the vendors to remain on the street.  Gómez López was adamant that all vending now takes place in the refurbished market.

According to vendors interviewed by Laguna, the  January 25 morning move to the interior of the Morelos Market was terrible  for sales for the handful who made the move. They complained that  change of location had a direct impact on their revenue, reducing it as much as 85% in some cases.

«At this hour I would have sold 400, 450 , and right now, you see I have only sold a bag of nopales, only 15 pesos», said one of the merchants who preferred to keep her name anonymous and, like the other vendors, said she did not know how to support the family that depends on her if this continues

“Who will go up  (stairs) for a bag of nopales, for a handful of guamúchiles or for a kilogram»of onions, is the question asked by the merchants who for many years sold their products in the streets surrounding the market and made their customers’ purchases easy.

Even though the new stalls designed for the merchants, which cost 7,500 pesos each, will not be charged to them, the vendors are looking for at least a support  plan from the City Hall to ease them through this first phase of the change. However, such support has not been confirmed, which is why some of the vendors have been reluctant to move to the new space. The elevator installed after the remodel is not working, exacerbating the problem.

Some  merchants opted to stop selling in the area, such as those who preferred to set up their  vending stall outside their house on 499 Morelos Street in Nextipac, because their advanced age made climbing the stairs every day with their merchandise an impossible task.

The stairs have led to complaints from other merchants.  Several  told Laguna that «it has caused us more work to climb every day with all the product, it is very heavy».

The  merchants who could not find a place inside the Market were hit even harder.  They were relocated to the small square of «La Campana», a junction of Morelos and Independencia streets,  which resulted in very low sales.

«Not even the flies can stop there», complained the vendors, who said that they will try to endure the situation as best they can in the hope that, with the passage of time and the force of habit, their former customers will come to their new facilities.

Meanwhile, since the relocation, the Government of Jocotepec began  adding new signage to help rehabilitate Jocotepec’s urban image, damaged recently by the piles of garbage accumulated by the irregular collection service .

Editor. – The increase of coronavirus infections in Jalisco has changed the  state’s covid traffic light to yellow as of January 24, after the state  had remained green during the previous two months. The change was due to the  increase of positive cases in the previous 12 days of 65 percent, compared to the same period last year.

The Federal Health Ministry established that from January 24 to February 6 Jalisco and nine other states will remain yellow in the national epidemiological map. The yellow Covid traffic light means that the incidence of contagion is medium, personal sanitary measures are required , and  health authorities mandate that economic and social activities operate with 75 percent capacity. 

As of January 26, the Covid-19 Active Detection System, Radar Jalisco had 3,889 active cases and a cumulative total of 462,645 confirmed cases with 36 deaths and 17,917 cumulative deaths throughout the state, while Chapala had 956 cumulative positive cases and Jocotepec had 780.

 Jalisco had 407,534 accumulated cases and 17,659 deaths between the first week of January and the beginning of the pandemic, while Chapala had 902 and Jocotepec 741, which have been increasing.

The  Jalisco Secretary of Health will determine if the sanitary measures will be increased. The Government of Jalisco has expanded the number of public spaces – outside health centers- to perform antigen tests  for those  with symptoms of Covid-19, and has acquired 45 thousand additional tests to be applied randomly in public schools.

Redacción. – Por su probable participación en los delitos de violencia familiar y lesiones dolosas, José Luis R fue detenido en Jocotepec, por elementos de la Fiscalía Regional. 

De acuerdo con la información de los hechos, el 14 de febrero del 2020, José Luis R. agredió a su pareja sentimental y la acusó de haberle robado dinero. Al tratar de intervenir, los hijos también fueron agredidos al igual que una hermana de la víctima quien fue amenazada con un machete.

Para hacer efectiva la justicia las víctimas, el agente del Ministerio Público realizó indagatorias con perspectiva de género y acreditó mediante datos de prueba, la probable responsabilidad de dicho sujeto en la comisión de los delitos de violencia familiar y lesiones dolosas, por lo que solicitó una orden de aprehensión en su contra.

Redacción.- La Fiscalía del Estado de Jalisco (FE) inició investigaciones bajo el protocolo correspondiente en torno a la muerte de una mujer con huellas de violencia en una finca del municipio de Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos. 

El asesinato fue reportado al Ministerio Público el pasado 29 de enero, en el que se refirió que en el interior de una vivienda, ubicada en el cruce de las calles Vista Contenta y Paseo de las Garzas, del fraccionamiento Buena Vista, yacía el cuerpo inerte de la femenina, por lo que el personal se trasladó al lugar.

Aunque inicialmente acudió la policía municipal como primeros respondientes quienes corroboraron el suceso y solicitaron la intervención de los servicios médicos que confirmaron el deceso de la femenina, la cual presentaba a simple vista diversas lesiones al parecer por golpes.

La escena fue procesada con el apoyo de peritos del Instituto Jalisciense de Ciencias Forenses, en busca de indicios que se allegaran a la carpeta de investigación. El Ministerio Público también giró mando y conducción, e investiga la muerte conforme el protocolo correspondiente. 

Los hombres presuntamente portaban droga sintética y otros narcóticos.

Redacción.- Dos sujetos fueron presentados ante el Ministerio Público por presuntamente portar droga sintética y otros narcóticos; la detención fue efectuada como parte de las acciones preventivas que personal operativo de la Secretaría de Seguridad del Estado (SSE) mantiene en Chapala. 

Uno de los arrestados fue Francisco “N”, de 28 años, quien tenía 14 envoltorios con cristal.

Fue en el cruce de las calles Francisco Villa y 28 de Febrero, en la delegación Santa Cruz de la Soledad, donde un sujeto que circulaba en una motocicleta sin placas intentó escapar al percatarse de la presencia de los oficiales, logrando interceptar metros adelante a Francisco “N”, de 28 años, a quien le fueron localizados en uno de los bolsillos del pantalón 14 envoltorios que contenían cristal.

El otro de los retenidos fue Brandon Isaí “N”, de 20 años, quien cargaba bolsas transparentes con marihuana.

Al sitio llegó otro hombre a bordo de una motocicleta intentando interrumpir el trabajo de los uniformados, motivo por el que aplicaron los protocolos de seguridad a quien se identificó como Brandon Isaí “N”, de 20 años, encontrando entre sus pertenencias cuatro bolsas transparentes con marihuana. 

Ambos sujetos fueron detenidos y puestos a disposición de la agencia ministerial con sede en Chapala para dar continuidad a las investigaciones correspondientes.

According to Maximiliano Macías Arceo, the Ajijic delegado, the creekbed has been cleaned three times since the administration began, a little over 100 days ago. The neighbors are so used to throwing garbage in that place that the day the gate was put back up (while the delegado and his assistants left to get a chain to secure the gate), garbage had been thrown in the creekbed during their brief absence.

Macías Arceo commented that the creek is used as a dumping ground for different types of waste, ranging from leaf litter and garden waste, to debris and other types of garbage, which causes many complaints because the creek was used as if it were a garbage dump. 

«There were many reports of people littering. An elderly man thanked us for putting back the gate that was just lying there, and we told him that it was mostly because it is not possible for us to clean up so often,” stated the person in charge of the office. 

As for the northern part of the cemetery, at the entrance on the Chapala-Jocotepec highway where the bridge is located, Macías Arceo was asked if the Delegation would take steps to prevent littering there as well. Macías Arceo said that he is aware that, in addition to littering, some people use the site as a restroom. The place gives off a strong odor, so he intends to contact the director of Public Works to find a solution, such as putting up some fences to block access to the part of the creek that crosses the cemetery of Ajijic. 

It is expected that, in the short term, there will also be a restriction in the passage through the creek, since there are people who not only throw garbage away there, but also are using it as a bathroom

Likewise, during the rainy season the gates will be opened to prevent the stream from damaging the gate again. «Although the lower part of the gate has bars to allow the water to pass through, we prefer to open the gates to prevent the gate from falling again,» said Macias Arceo. 

He also clarified that in case it is necessary to bring things into the cemetery through the creek, permission can be given to the Delegation to open the gate. On the other hand, on occasions such as the Day of the Dead, the opening of this access will have a schedule.

Finally, he said that the gates will remain open from early in the morning, so that people can enter to maintain their tombs, in addition to asking for the support of those who attend to keep the space clean.
